BistrotNeuf

Neuf is the French number nine. Neuf is also used to mean "brand new" - fresh from the factory or the first of its kind.
Bistrot Neuf on Haarlemmerstraat 9 stands for honest and recognizable delicious French food. Cozy and uncomplicated dining with wine as a base. In other countries this formula is very well known and successful, such as in Italy with its Trattoria / enoteca, Spain with the famous Tapas and of course the French bistrot bar-a-vin.

In addition to our dinner, we are one of the few establishments in the center of Amsterdam to serve “warm lunch”. The menu consists of French classic dishes, making use of the season and availability of products. All snacks and dishes at “Neuf” are traditional and without fuss.

The name Bistro or Bistrot comes from Russian. It means Fast or Fast! Russian Cossacks who occupied Paris after Napoleon’s defeat in 1815 thus urged the castles to speed up their order: Bystrò! The French soldiers returned penniless from the eastern front. They brought the idea for an unpretentious eatery from Russia. Until then, France only had restaurants for the well-to-do bourgeoisie.

"AuCrieursDe Vin"

“Au crieurs de Vin” literally the screamer for wine.
Neuf is the only bistrot in Amsterdam where you can choose from 75 different kinds of wine, all served by the glass. We have more than 250 wines on stock and a key to the door of our lovely neighbours Chabrol Wines. This store is the heaven for wine lovers, as you can find anything your heart wishes for. From Touraine Sauvignon to Saint Aubin 1er cru, even the best wines from St. Emilion, and the best part is that they are all offered by the glass. Furthermore, we also have seven choices of sparkling wine available by the glass.

At Bistrot Neuf you can choose to spend an entire evening enjoying our lovely wine and food, cozy atmosphere and kind staff, as well as to stop by for a quick delicious bite.

We are very proud to announce that Bistrot Neuf was awarded in the 2017 Michelin guide, recognizing our high levels of comfort, decor and service that we provide to our customers. And we are also thrilled to have been included since 2014 in the Gault & Millau.
